Ivanpah Featured in NY Times Magazine

The Ivanpah project has been featured in the New York Times Magazine! Twelve incredible black and white images by photographer Jamey Stillings are compiled to create a breathtaking photo essay of the project’s construction progress.
The images do an excellent job of visually demonstrating the low-impact design approach we’ve taken. Our unique pylon and heliostat based solar field does not requires minimal grading of the site – only the power block area and ring roads – as seen in the image of the power block and the surrounding ring roads (see photo #5). The individual pylon approach also allows us to be flexible and avoid areas as needed, as seen in the image of the heliostats wrapping around a small hill (see photo #4).
