Industrial Solar Thermal

BrightSource’s solar field captures, concentrates and controls the sun’s light to produce a solar flux at temperatures of over 1000 °C.

This “solar furnace” can be used to replace “fossil fuel furnaces” and act as a renewable heat source for a number of applications. These include the production of synthesis gas from CO2 and hydrogen from water; the manufacture of cement of aluminum; and other processes that require renewable energy.
